      Not sure when I found this. Used to find a lot of coins and just kept them in a jar. I found a lot at county fairs in my area. A lot of the different coins were because I lived near Beale AFB and found them in playgrounds where the children played. For instance, I found a penny which had “Island” on it. It took awhile to find out that the coin was from Iceland. I have been using a metal detector for about 50 years.

    This reminds me of the lucky penny that I loved as a kid. They had a hole for your key chain and they were always encased in what looks like the same metal as your coin? They were always stamped with great advertising, “good luck” and “keep me and never go broke”…

      When my uncle died in the ’60s I found a coin he must have gotten when he worked in New York around 1910. It was a 1793 one cent piece with a hole drilled in it. Recently in the news, I read that one of the coins sold at an auction for 1.38 million dollars!
