I flipped over this one!  Vintage 1950’s clothes hamper complete with poodle and a dainty, pink gloved hand.  I still don’t get the significance of the Eiffel Tower and poodles but I don’t think it matters, I’ll take poodle kitsch any day!

As I see these posts I’m reminded that my closest friends are very lucky because they inherit a lot of my overstock that I have no immediate use for. I had this clothes hamper for years but it hid in my storage space. Aside from the top coming apart, which is an easy fix, it was too beautiful to be stuck away collecting cobwebs. Snappy P needed a side table and this seemed like the perfect solution.

As far as the significance of the poodle and the Eiffel Tower, they were just totally iconic 50s images used for anything having to do with fashion or glamour. Seeing as it was fashion that get shoved into the clothes hamper it just made something stinky and dirty seem very elegant.

You could always use my house for storage. That is if I lived out there. (bottom lip hanging down…)
