The Little House on the Prairie aesthetic

I was an urban apartment-dwelling kid in Flatbush, Brooklyn in the 1970s who fell *hard* for Laura Ingalls Wilder … the books, the TV show and most definitely the toys that shared the same prairie aesthetic. Boy, did I love me some Holly Hobbie! One of these days I’ll get my hands on the HH lunchbox I so coveted back in the day…

I missed this whole trend in the 70s as I was way too into music and Disco by that point to partake in things as quaint as Holly Hobbie and Little House. But that aesthetic was so ubiquitous and popular it was insane. So many humans dressed like that too. This doll’s a classic for it’s time!

I had that Holly Hobbie! I’m reliving my childhood lately here at AWMOK.
