“Great for Holiday get-togethers with family, friends, and co-workers, the Smile Harness will turn that frown upside down. And keep it that way! No more worries about showing any unacceptable emotion, the Smile Harness will keep you happy all day long!”

Well, I must say I’ve never seen this before. Somewhere between a bungee cord and a garter someone had a vision and successfully executed upon it. Is this actually manufactured and, if so, what year was it made and where did you find it? I hope the photographer got this in one shot.

Very lovely art direction by you as well.

      Thanks for the compliment!
The Smile Harness was created by a San Francisco artist (the young woman in the accompanying insert photo). It was an example of her art piece entry into a 2006 San Francisco art gallery (The LAB) exhibit that I also participated in. The theme of the show was to create “small format multiples” of a creative idea or art piece. My entry was a postcard duplication of one of my photo-based graphic art pieces. The show challenged artists to create a piece for the show by subverting and manipulating a theme to their own ends. I was quite taken by the sardonic humor, the uniqueness, and the pure functionality of the Smile Harness. I had to have one.

Frankly, I do not know where to get one, at this juncture. The S.F. artist who created it (them, actually) might still have some (perhaps not, as there were only a few that were made), however I don’t even know her name. Sorry.
