Another fabulous creation by Allee. I love this table and really dig the lamp but it’s what Allee used to create the feet to the table that really kills me.

Slightly different angle.

Spring, Car steering wheel, and metal bar. The metal bar has a pink ball attached to the end of it.

The steering wheel kills me.

I was selling lots of furniture I made back in the day. https://www.alleewillis.com/art/furniture/index.htm

This ‘Spaghetti Table” was a really popular one. The one you see here was the prototype. I used the spring out of my 1955 DeSoto Fireflyte. After that I started stockpiling old car springs. One reason I finally stopped making furniture was because the inventory took up so much room. But I still have tons of vintage steering wheels. I think this one was off a Cadillac.

Ultimately, I had the same problems with my furniture that I had with my huge motorized art pieces: the person who was fabricating them with me was an idiot and nothing was engineered right, He had no engineering skills whatsoever – though you could never tell him that- so unless I balance the contents on top perfectly the glass could tip over if someone sneezes. Ultimately, I found people who had serious skills so one day maybe I’ll start up again. But the experience of working with someone that inept still hasn’t worn off so it will be a while‚Ķ. In the meantime, the table remains a very popular piece in my house.

If I medicate myself and bring along some food, am I going to get the tour of the storage unit? It’s killing me!

Is that where the rest of your steering wheels are kept?

    I love this table.

    Great post Denny… Beautiful
The lamp is fab and the table is to die for… I love Industrial Design Art…

That table is inspired. Maybe you could do and update to it using another spring or steering wheel as an additional “leg”. That lamp is too funky, i’d be glad to let it live at my house…or one similar to it.

I DIE over the pink-balled foot on the table. It’s actually one of my favorite parts of this table.
