One of the most beautiful door stops ever! I’ve seen many types of door stops before but don’t ever recall seeing one of a bulldog.
I’ve always loved these old foot sizers and have even seen a few at the dump but it never dawned on me to take them home and hang them on my walls! Brannock Device, Syracuse New York.
This chest of drawers flipped me out and I really regret not taking the time to get more detail. I do know that the smaller white handle is used to pull open and reveal a set of mirrors. This piece came from the Worlds Fair. I don’t know the year that it was made or the company that made them.
I really hated to leave and was distracted by the fact I only whizzed through “The House of Prudence” and only took a handful of photographs. I do hope that Snappy P will have me back for a longer visit. After all, Snappy P serves the best cheese and crackers! Thank you Snappy P!

I believe that the old foot sizer from the 1950s was a Christmas present from me a few years ago. I think those devices are gorgeous and worthy of your walls.
The Deco clothes chest is pretty fantastic. The whole right side pulls out to reveal a floor length mirror.
And yes, I agree that Snappy P serves extraordinary cheese and crackers (on extraordinary plates).

So then, you can imagine how bummed I was to only be able to whizz through “The House of Prudence”. I wish I had more to post and believe me, if she will have me back, I’m ready and even offered my pet sitting services. After all, if I pet sit here for my friends, I can certainly do the same for my west coast peeps.

Beautiful post, beautiful view. Denny do you know when the chest was made, which World’s Fair??.. And who was the designer or manufacturer??? Is the mirror stored, and pull out from the side of the drawers?

Oh man, I WORSHIP the HoP!!!!!!! That chest of drawers is so incredible, I can’t even take it!!! I would love to know more! Is that doorstop Hubley? I became obsessed with Hubley iron doorstops and banks awhile ago, but they’re too expensive to collect.That bulldog is beautiful though….wow! I lvoed getting my feet sized by those metal things when I was a kid…….they look so cool and it always felt like you were getting the full service spa treatment when you’d go to the shoe store, ya know? :)
