Yesterdog! Located in Eastown, a small business district/neighborhood! It’s only been around since the mid-70’s, but the entire area is well over 100 years old. It’s one of the staples of my hometown. It was even recreated in the 1999 film, American Pie as “Dog Years”, and there’s also a low-budget documentary about it. http://www.youtube.com/v/cPQx_IEt9hs?fs=1&hl=en_US”
The entrance is a faded coral-pink/minty-green scheme. The awning is shared with an equally kitschy coffeeshop, but after the smoking ban, they renovated it with more conservative colors.
Across the street, is this head shop called Mystic Mill.
The inside atmosphere is phenomenal! The walls are covered (sometimes overlapped) with antique signs of varying kitschiness.

This looks truly fantastic! So it’s in Michigan, the state other than California that I’m most partial to?
Thank God that someplace they have the good sense not to knock everything down but, rather, to glorify it.
Would love to see some of the signs inside Mystic Mill. I love those old wooden booths.
And I’d love a hot dog at Yesterdog. Is the street it’s on named Wealthy?
