My Dad is a great guy, he’s still with us at age 93. But he didn’t want to buy a trombone for me when I was a kid. Finally, after much drama, he relented, and bought me a horn. I decided right then and there that I would make him very proud of my talent some day.
It’s great to be king.

Okay, I have to award you a Camembert! Your presentation is excellent. You look so happy to be playing the horn and there you are as Band Day King!

Our band teacher/director until my senior year also happened to be the local undertaker.
He used to kick me out of band on a regular basis, but always let me back in.
He too had always been a rabble-rouser. He had to have been in his late 50’s when he took us all to a Nebraska Cornhusker football game, had a few schnapps hot cocoas, and produced a whistle out of his coat pocket and started to blow it during plays, causing mass pandemonium on the field for the referees. One of the twirlers finally got it away from him, and order ensued.

OH and thanks for the Classique d’Camembert!
