This men’s cologne bottle from 1947 was made by The House of Men, Inc. and is one of my most cherished tchotchkes. The dapper looking dude with a flat top haircut is dressed in a burgundy tuxedo jacket– his head is made of ivory bakelite. The name of the cologne, “HIS” is molded on his chest below the bow tie.
Not sure what’s going on in the face– is he wearing a monocle?

I’ve always loved these bottles. I had one in a black tux. I think I still have the head somewhere but the bottle bite the dust in an earthquake in 1989.
This is so so so classic and probably my favorite cologne bottle of all time. The Cubist head is too much and the smile on his face gives the nod to the happy-go-lucky postwar period it was made in.

I actually found the one I had in Detroit about 20 years ago at an old armory on Woodward and 10.

Good thing it says “His” on there or else I might not know!
