    It sounds like you don’t know who Totie is…? She’s a kitsch icon and very popular comedienne in the 60’s and 70’s until her untimely death in 1978 .

    My alter-ego, Bubble the artist, painted Totie’s likeness in portrait and ceramic because of her manager’s (me) love of her. By chance, a friend of Totie’s daughter emailed a jpg of the painting to her and she contacted me immediately. We became great friends and remain so to the day. As a consequence I’ve seen lots of obscure Totie footage and love her even more. I live to see the Christmas card that Totie sent out with Sammy Davis Jr. They recreated the famous kiss scene in On The Beach. Totie was best friends with Sammy and the Rat Pack, who spent most holidays at her dinner table.

    Used to love her on ED SULLIVAN and other variety shows when I was a kid. Maybe they should do a biopic of her and cast Melissa McCarthy.

      Totie’s daughter, who I’m good friends with, has been trying to get a film made for years. No luck yet but would love to see this made.
