Are you RISEN in CHRIST or DAMNED in EVOLUTION?
glorious fire-and-brimstone Fundi billboards on Hwy 431 Albertville, Alabama, festooned with American flags
Lake of Fire blllboard (this is on Hwy 431, approaching Guntersville Lake)
See you there,

I dig the grocery store shelves (https://www.alleewillis.com/awmok/kitschenette/2009/12/06/foodland-of-albertville-alabama/) and the chrome fire hydrant (https://www.alleewillis.com/awmok/kitschenette/2009/12/12/albertville-alabama-fire-hydrant-capital-of-the-world/) but I’d steer clear of this sector of Albertville. I’d string the Pickled Rope Baloney across town and keep the crazies on the other side for sure.

Won’t work .. They’re Everywhere … you’d have to wrap yourself in a rubber pork bumper cocoon of Pickled Rope Baloney slathered in mayonnaise, so the holy rollers’d bounce and slide right off.

I am absolutely speechless here. These are amazing yes, but so disturbing. When I lived in Orlando, they had “hate” signs on Orange Blossom Trail. Can I leave off the mayo?
Julie Brumlik
Leave off the mayo at your own risk…
I veer from genuine appreciation for the passion and originality of the billboards (true folk art, imo) to pit-of-stomach upset over the bitterness & fear in the messages. Seems the holier the roller the rawer the anger & bigotry.
But I make gingerbread Darwins and my créche has monkeys.
