It is once again Mardi Gras season here in Louisiana. I obsess over the seasonal King Cake, and search for the BEST one by testing out one from a different bakery. I only consumed close to 3 King Cakes this year.

I have never liked the taste of King Cake but the color is so completely insane and I always loved little toy babies and such so I throw taste to the wind and down the King Cake whenever it’s placed in front of me. I hope you enjoyed yours!

I only had a few pieces of King Cake this season. Did buy one whole one and sent it to the niece/godchild and her family. The report was they liked it. I still think the best is from Croissant D’Or in New Orleans, the classic type that has no frosting and is filled with a very tasty almond spread. Didn’t make it to that stop this year on Mardi Gras Day though. Will attempt to make a report though…….
