Here’s a great find from a thrift shop… they call this design “prayer lady” or “mother in the kitchen.” The yellow and green is one of the rarer colors this set was made in. I would call this a planter, but I think “prayer lady collectors” call this particular design a “flower pot” so as to avoid confusion with a different planter that was made.

She’s flat on the back so I think maybe she was intended to hold a notepad or spoons something rather than be a planter… but I couldn’t find very much information. I just know she’s rare.

I have a bunch of planters similar to this, mostly little girls, with this small, flat opening for something in the back. I usually end up sticking pencils in them. The ones that are meant for measuring spoons usually just have slots the spoons can fit into. Ultimately though I think these gals are happy to have anything stuck in them.
