Say the title out loud… Scarf Art…Scar Fart… it gets me every time.
This pamphlet was from a time before every hipster was wearing a scarf wrapped around their neck. This pamphlet was from a time when my mom was sporting scarves and having a hard time finding new ways to wear them.
Here are some new ways to wear them:
I looooove the woman in the top right corner sporting the “Executive Knot”. Im also fairly positive that in the lower right corner Mariel Hemingway is sporting “Knotted Beads”
Im 100% sure Rhea Perlman is wearing “Bib Blouson”.
Here I am with the “Casual Toss”:
and the “Shoulder Flag”:

Love, of course, that you’re modeling the variations. You’ve certainly chosen the right scarf.
That period of hair and fashion I absolutely hated. As an adult I found my style and stuck to it so I was never tempted to be “neatly knotted”. I don’t remember ever really being into scarves but I got heavily into them over the last year, tho not the flimsy kind.

The title is inspired, but I also love the illustrations. There’s nothing “executive” about the demon lady who resembles Cruella de Ville. And there’s definitely nothing “casual” about the pert model whose hair looks as unbreakable as Ms. Gingrich’s. It’s really hard to date this based on what I see above. The cover looks 70’s but some of the hairstyles look alternately 60’s, 70’s (bad perm for “Dramatic” look) and well, indeterminate.
