Every tool had a purpose back then (Part 4)

With the war over, families were splurging on kitchen gadgets in the late 40’s. Every tool had a purpose. The top two had the bakelite handles. A step up from red enamel paint that eventually flaked off if submerged in water too long. (I found that out the hard way).

Top, light chopping by hand; ice cream scoop, candy thermometer, and pop bottle opener. For display only.

I’m happy to say that I too own all of these. I had absolutely no idea what the top one was but had to have it anyway. Food chopper makes a lot of sense.

I use to have the top tool and used it to chop eggs. It worked great. It was misplaced in my recent move from California to Texas. I am looking for another one. Does anyone know where I might find one. I have tried the Antique Malls here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Unable to locate.
