Little Kimono Girl

My mother bought me this little ceramic girl as a gift.  She stands maybe 6 or 7 inches high.

   Is that ribbon plastic on the umbrella?

   Any idea of what vintage this is?

     The umbrella is wire and the decoration is really fabric ribbon and tulle. I would guess late 1950s.
