Look delicious despite the fact that they sound like cookies you can choke on. Discovered at Wesley Kosher Supermarket, Wesley Hills, NY.

Not exactly sure what they were going for with the name “Chookies” as at first glance it looks like the name is based on the word “choke”. But ever since the Big Kahuna of cookies, Girl Scout Thin Mints, existed this has been one of my favorite kinds of cookies. So under normal circumstances I’m not a fan of mint but put it in Girl Scout cookies or Junior Mints or, I suppose, Chookies and I’m there.

OMG! I sell these where I work at Landau’s Supermarket in South Fallsburg, NY and that’s exactly what I thought when I first saw them. I think they were going for a combo of “chocolate” and “cookie,” but may have perhaps scared some customers instead. There were other cookies called “CHIPS WOW!” whose packaging looked nearly identical to that of Chips Ahoy. There’s always a few product names that I cant help but laugh at…So funny that I found these here!

    Hugs and Kitsches!

Hey Danny, My husband, (Meshugga) Mel and I discovered them last time were were visiting his family in Suffern, NY. It was at one of the many kosher places in Monsey, NY. I was tempted to buy them but, since there were so many good things (like babka, and black and white cookies) that I knew I’d like, I just settled for taking a photo.
              love and kitsch,
