This is one of the 1st things I found when I really started heavily collecting around 1970. I’m pretty sure it only cost a quarter.
I love that someone thought of the idea of making flat rubber sideburns and a mustache. I also like that not only is it for parties but for “theatricals and television” too.
One of my favorite things about it however is that that style of hair really wasn’t popular until the 1970s yet this is 1957. Most Rock ‘N roll artists in the 50’s were much cleaner cut.
I also love that it took an entire team of Hollywood makeup artists to design it. Of course, no specific makeup artists are mentioned. Which is probably because none of them had anything to do with this.

Made by St. Pierre, which is probably not a real person. I love this piece of kitsch.

This is hilarious! Nothing about this says “rock n’ roll”– looks more like Simon Legree or Snidely Whiplash!

Doug, who is Simon Legree?
Douglas Wood
He’s the cruel slave owner in UNCLE TOM’S CABIN. He’s usually portrayed as the ultimate, mustache-twirling villain.
Allee Willis
YEs, the ultimate villain.
