Were it not for Chinese food this Jew would have spent a hungry childhood! One of the few popular ethnic foods I remember growing up in Detroit. The joint on 7 Mile and Meyers (I think) was of particular importance.

I’ve never gotten over my love of Egg Foo Young.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Detroit was Victor Lim’s. Yummy any day of the year.

I LOVE this post! This Xmas I’ll be going to the Chinese Buffet like I do every Xmas. It was always Chinese food for my family on Xmas. I used to be embarrassed to be such a cliché, now I embrace it!

I’m thinking Chinese for Thanksgiving before work….either that or gumbo or crawfish etouffe. Supper at work and i hope they have something other than turkey to feed us…Christmas will be turducken if i get the word in early enough.
