This guy found a car just like his first car, and modernized it with components that make it more safe like disk brakes. A modern V8 engine, transmission, and the interior is mildly modernized too. Normally I go for the originals, but at the end of the day, it’s the design that I consider to be art, and he left that intact.

GORGEOUS. Very similar to my ’55 Stude that’s been in my driveway waiting patiently for over 15 years for mommy to restore it. But I want to do what this guy did, though nothing to the exterior or or interior but I would love to totally overhaul under the hood. It’s only 6 V, no air-conditioning, so I’ve always dreamt of getting it up to modern speed. But all the car people I know tell me I would have to sink $100,000 into it to do it. I need it about 100 times less than that. So it shall remain as a happy little planter in my driveway. Same for my DeSoto that sits up on blocks in my storage garage.

It has become a more popular thing to do, upgrade the mechanical/safety aspects of older cars. I think it particularly makes sense with steering, as in adding modern power steering units, and brakes, as in all disk brakes. I really don’t think you’d have to sink that much into it, but then again, if you’re talking customization, and doing things the way you do, it might! I think just having some people draw up different plans for us to see would be cool.
I think I remember the guy that owned this one being from Littleton, CO, which is a ‘burb of Denver.
