Black ceramic sculpture/pitcher found at the dump store – signed by the artist

Gorgeous piece I found at the dump store.  The signature of the artist is etched on the bottom as well as the date.  I can’t make out either.

Year 19 something???

    You’re calling it a pitcher but isn’t it more like a bowl or planter? Do we need to see this from another angle to establish its pitcher-ness? Great-looking nonetheless. I’d probably use it to keep pens and pencils or letters that I never manage to open and read in.

    Nothing “pitcher-ness” about it. I was doing a lot of posts this day. It’s a planter for sure.
