Although I never would have worn any of this back in the day, I thank God that such a style existed and that I got to grow up with that all around me.

Calling those things a vest is really a stretch. They’re more like giant potholders with bathing suit straps.

I love the hats because they show a crocheter who just couldn’t stop.

I use the term “vest” loosely, that’s just what their called on the package.. it looks more like those things you wear for laser tag.

Wow, yeah they are potholder dork targets…”Hey over here! Throw something at me!!!!”

Acutally, when i first read the title of this post, i thought it said Dorky Crockett….

And since have had the following song stuck in my head, with the chorus as Dorky Crockett instead of Davey….join me in my misery….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01rNP89pSyk

oh yeah…i have had that song stuck in my head on a constant loop since childhood…the lyrics change often, depending on my mood and present situation…:)

I seriously believe those vests got spontaneously invented by someone who accidently crocheted too large pottholders. Looks like another great fashion idea for Lady Gaga to me.

Every girl I went to grade school with wore these get-ups! Then middle school, these outfits were everywhere you turned.
