Found this cool Art Deco lamp at a yard sale recently and it wasn’t until I got it home that I realized it was a homemade item, and that the green “shades” are actually slats from venetian blinds simply inserted into slots in the wood and wrapped around.   (It measures about 14″ tall and 12″ across the top.)  Someone was very resourceful and inventive, and I wonder why I haven’t seen more of these around.

Really great, especially in that it’s handmade and made out of Venetian blinds. Knowing that it’s handmade, I can really appreciate the wood structure that looks like it was made in shop class. Either that or someone dismantled one of their trophies.

That color Venetian blind is my absolute favorite vintage blind color.

This is pretty killer! If I see discarded blinds on the side of the road, I might have to steal this idea.
