I think I remember having something similar when I was a young tot.  This is one of the many vintage trays that I found at Willis Wonderland.  This tray has legs on it so you can use it if you are playing “sick” from school and confined to your bed.

    This tray is extra large. It’s hoisted over me many a night as I slave away on the computer when I should be sleeping.

    Made in the 1960’s. It originally came with special crayons so you drew right on the tray and wiped it off. I’m way too much of an archivist to make use of something that temporary though.

    Grandma always had stuff like this around when we came over for sleepovers. Loved bein’ stretched out on the floor colorin’ while grandma and grandpapy watched all in the family and Maude.
