Leisure Lamp

I pulled this lovely box out of the trash can at a rummage sale to photograph it for y’all.  I’m pretty sure people nearby thought I was crazy =D  Um… are those shotgun shells?  Should you really keep those near your lamp?

Great for picnics, or unwisely standing next to large windows near electrical storms on flat land where tornadoes are likely.

Campin’ or Fishin’ with the Boys… this lamp is pretty manly.

Or good for setting with your nautical still life.

The lamp itself was out for sale at the rummage sale, I don’t know why those who priced it took it out of its box.  It was the mustard yellow color and in good shape…

I had one of these as a kid and I would drag it around.  I probably drove my mother nuts begging for lantern batteries which I’m sure cost an arm and a leg.

I’m swooning over that lamp. Insane that whoever owned it removed it from the box in order to try and sell it. The box is the best part. Not that the lamp isn’t adorable. I would have totally bought this myself.

I love the nautical setting on one of the sides of the box. The art director totally had it together.

I love that the makers of this lamp blatantly violate their own marketing concept. If it’s truly a “leisure” lamp (which implies relaxing and recreation, hence the fishing and patio scenes), then why show it in the “emergency” context? It’s hilarious to see the couple enjoying their leisure lamp while gazing lovingly as lightning strikes their neighbors’ telephone pole (across the vast expanse of a pink lawn, no less.)

This is GREAT. Totally agree with you on the leisure vs. emergency message. A big ol’ whiskey tango foxtrot there.
