From 1977 to 1983 I lived in Oklahoma. OKC is not necessarily considered an international tourist destination. In my mind, this contributes greatly to the Americana Kitsch value of the city, along with it being on Route 66.
I found this video online this morning, and I remember many of the signs in the photos.

Swooning for them all! I wish they were all lining my street.
I literally was on Route 66 in CA. Sat. night. Save for the WIigwam Motel and literally a few more motels, none with astounding signs, there’s almost nothing left.
I wish the titles they put at the bottom didn’t hog as much room. But fantastic nonetheless.

I agree, we want to see the work, not a script!
I was reminded while posting this that because Oklahoma is in the bible belt, when we lived there, the rules of alcohol consumption in nightclubs were quaint. One had to buy a membership to the nightclub before they could have a cocktail. Many times it was just a $5 fee. But at closing time, they would honor requests for “roadies,” and fill up a plastic cup with whatever strong cocktail one needed to make the trip home.
