When I got my $5 allowance, I headed downtown to Flipside Records to get the latest singles for $.99 + tax. I have about 50 45rpms. I’ve seen flea markets with these for sale @ $.50-.75. Mine are worth so much more sentimentally.

Such a late 70s/early 80’s collection!
I spent all my allowance money on 45’s when I was a kid too. Though
I was only allowed to buy one yellow plastic 45 insert at a time. So jealous of the full pack!

Me too!! Growing up in the 70’s I’d save up until I had $8 to go to the mall and buy an LP. Occasionally I’d buy 45’s. Nearly my entire allowance was spent on music. Also a good Hanukkah from my parents was me receiving an LP a night for 8 nights. I still miss the bigger artwork that accompanied LPs & 45s. CDs never did it for me in the artwork dept. and downloads make me miss the artwork most of all.

My Hanukah’s were very much the same!
