Came across these ads from the 1950’s and I was shocked. Did they really use babies to sell cigarettes?! Wonder how many babies grew up without mommies who checked out early due to smoking. BTW, does anyone remember candy cigarettes for children?!

Unbelievable! Not shocking though given the mentality back then and the power that both tobacco companies and advertising agencies had to control the public mindset.
I love that they say “you need never feel over-smoked… That’s the miracle of Marlboro.
I LOVED candy cigarettes and still do. They still make these Viceroys too. I hate when they don’t have enough pink flame at the end of them though and they just look like long, thin pieces of chalk.

Yes, they still make candy cigarettes….I have a friend (Terry) who recently hosted a baby shower, and she had a big piñata in the shape of a baby and when the guests wacked open the piñata, it was filled inside with chocolate booze bottles and candy cigarettes! How sick is that?!

I think it’s pretty great!

My kind of baby shower!! And what better way to soak in the tub with your trusty Bath-O-Meter, than with a Viceroy!
