80’s Condo Guest Room

My wife and I recently visited my parents at their condo in a suburb of Chicago.  The complex in which they live has a guest room for visitors and we stayed there.  As you can see from the photos, it was probably decorated in the mid 80’s when “Dusty Rose” was a popular color.  A little Dusty Rose goes a long way.  (Earth-tone flowers courtesy of my mom, apparently trying to off-set the Dusty Rose color scheme.)

No TV in the room, but who needs one when you have a conference table?  Nothing says “home” like mounted foam board photos of a condo complex.

The cozy black vinyl couch is clearly there to hold 7 large pillows, as opposed to say, an actual person.  The Dusty Rose pillows nicely complement the Dusty Rose shag carpet.

Note marbled Dusty Rose wallpaper with Dusty Rose patterned border along the Dusty Rose moulding.  The floral Dusty Rose valance drapes over the Dusty Rose vertical hanging blinds.

Excellent documentation!! Perfectly 80’s in the most perfect dusty rose, coldish, foamcore prints of the condo on the wall way!

I love that nothing’s changed. Except that Reagan is (thankfully) no longer in office.
