Looks like a panel from Esquire from the 50’s. Fantastic graphic.

I’ve always loved the concept of background music – specifically made as bg music as opposed to just playing regular music with vocals low. These were probably great musicians too as Capitol employed so many of them to play behind their artists like Frank Sinatra. I just wish they weren’t show tunes, although back then it wouldn’t be the cheese platter it would be now with more contemporary shows (excepting TCP, of course).

I do listen to this type of sound all the time, especially when studying, I absolutely love it. I was born in the wrong era.

Great post…fab cover, and it’s show tunes…perfect. Boy it does look like Esquire, wondering if it’s the same artist?
