How-w-w-DEE-E-E-E! This is a Minnie Pearl cardboard fan with a stick handle. For those of you you don’t know who she was, Minnie Pearl (real name: Sarah Ophelia Colly Cannon) was a comedienne who performed at the Grand Ole Opry for more than 50 years. Her humor was based on hillbilly humor and she was known for wearing downhome dresses and a flowered hat which still had the $1.98 price tag hanging from it. This fan features her likeness in the hat complete with the hanging $1.98 price tag (I wonder if that was the price of the fan itself….which would be very clever).

Beautiful! I always loved Minnie Pearl. She was a Hee Haw staple too.
It’s great that the fan actually has that price tag hanging as opposed to it being incorporated into the photo.
I’m pretty sure I have some Minnie Pearl playing cards.

I grew up watching Hee-Haw.
This would come in handy on those hot Cape Cod days!
