When I was a kid, I went to see every Marx Brothers movie. Later in his life, I watched him on “You Bet Your Life” on TV. Near the end of his life, I remember his farewell show. When he came on stage, everyone in the audience had one of these masks on.

I was forever intrigued by these as a kid. I’m sick that I have no photos of me in them because I had them on so often. I still have several pairs. What I also have that I haven’t posted in my blog yet is an incredible set of these but official swag made by Groucho himself. Everything is made of hard plastic and includes a cigar. Go Groucho!

My hero. I love Groucho. I have home videos of me impersonating Groucho when I was 3. And again at 12. A huge Groucho portrait hangs in my hall. I’ve always loved him. One of the smartest funniest men of all time!

I have seen Frank Ferrante as Groucho twice and Allee has asked me to include a story about these from my blog which I will do soon. I recently contacted him by email to see if it was alright to give his website which has a schedule of his performances. The second time I saw him, he remembered me from the first. Any time he puts on a show near where you are, I would urge you to see him. You might even ask him if he knows Bob Ramsdell from both Paradise, CA and Florence, OR.

You’re occasionally in Florence, OR?? Well, I’m in Bandon, OR and yes, Frank came here and I talked to him for a long time. I wanted him to know what a huge Marx Bros. fan I was. I dressed in my 40’s attire and practically became part of his show. Not unusual, as Frank does that in his shows. I teased him about the fact that he’s now played Groucho almost as long as Julius did. I have a wonderful DVD of one of Frank’s performances.

I just got word from Allee that she had given my website entry a Certificate of AuthenKitschity today. I also included his site with his schedule in case anyone might have a chance to see his show.

I have always been a big Marx Bros. fan.. I think I wrote papers /reports for school about them as early as 6th or 7th grade, haha. Every kid/person with any sense of humor needs a pair of these.
