I don’t know how everyone feels about vintage appliances but when I see them new in the box I get a little weak in the knees. This has never been used and believe it or not I found it for almost nothing. It did not last in the store long at all as the gentleman who bought it was replacing the one at his mother’s house he ruined 40 years earlier with his GI Joe doll. Apparantly he got his head stuck in the blade wheel. What a hoot!

    Gorgeous! And so complete!

I have a bunch of vintage 1950’s and 60’s electric can openers, most of them pedestal style. I’ve never even seen this one. Absolutely classic styling and unbelievable that it was literally never opened. I love all the literature they included and how great that you even have the original mounting plate and screws!

    Have you used it?

That coffee, tea, etc. canister set next to it needs to be here at AWMOK. I only have the coffee one and keep pencils in it.

I find these canisters all the time. I will look for you. As far as the can opener, no I never used it. I bought it and put it in my store and it was snatched up quickly. It was a beauty though!

LOL..Did I read that right??… as a little guy, he decapitated his GI Joe Doll with his mom’s electric can opener???..
Wonder what his GI Joe is worth now???…smile

Yes you did read correctly!!! I laughed so hard when he told me the story that I almost wet my pants! I was just imagining this little boy sticking his GI Joe in the can opener! And to think that to this day he was thinking about it enough to replace it for his mom some 40 years later. It must have been a running joke in his family!!!
