My Lamp

I made this lampshade about a trillion years ago (before it actually occurred to me that feathers are just as cruel as fur :( oops!). I bought the cheapest, most basic lamp I could find at Ikea, and spent the real dough on the decorations ;). I covered the shade in tissue paper that I found at the dollar store (LOVE this print! wish I had bought more!)…the rest is feathers, a piece of ribbon, some gold fringe and a couple of tassels. It has been likened to a witch dr’s headdress more than once…Guess that makes it kitschy enough to attempt a submission here…….

    Excellent!! Everything works great together. And I love that you’re now showing us more of your creations. But I can’t believe that your kitty cats haven’t attacked the lampshade. Mine would be all over those feathers so fast I’d need a feather factory next door to keep me in stock.

    Thanks guys! I”m truly flattered you like it! Yeah, the cats have definitely eyed this thing now and then, but since I mostly rescue ferals and bottle feeders, the only ones that get near it are my more well behaved indoor friends…Casper would LOVE to eat this but all I have to do is give him the stern voiced “mama’s watching you” and he slinks away, goes back to the couch and rolls on his back…Love that boy :)
