On Christmas Eve my nieces and I attempted to re create the cover of the gingerbread box..not an easy task ..I particularly like the splat of icing on the centre house.

I’ve never been a big fan of gingerbread houses but I’m a great fan of how you and your nieces slopped on that icing! Now that I see gingerbread houses can be made from kits I think I’m going to take a lot more interest in them.
I do really love these gingerbread houses because they look like they were built with love, as opposed to precision in being the goal. The splat of white frosting on the center house is especially good. I’m sure the people in the eastern part of the United States could relate to it as that’s what the snow looks like on their houses right now. The red icing squirted all over the place on the house all the way to the left (the right as you look at it here) is especially impressive! Good work, Shirlie!

There was a great commercial that ran during the holidays???.. Where the guy in the commercial had made a huge mid-century modern gingerbread house???…..I loved it…
Have you ever thought about doing a “Willis Wonderland” in Gingerbread???… it would be unbelievable!!
I was looking around Google hoping to find the commercial.. no luck???
But I found this…fun.. http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-gingerbread-houses
I’ve definitely seen that commercial with the midcentury modern gingerbread house but it drove me nuts because they played it so often. Also, his monotone voice drove me crazy, although having a monotone voice was the point of the whole commercial. I also wasn’t crazy about the music score. Unfortunately, those things are the only thing I remember about the commercial and absolutely couldn’t tell you what the product was. Most commercials made specifically for Christmas drive me crazy, this year the Pomplamoose Hyundai ones leading the pack for annoyance. I was looking forward to 2011 because I wouldn’t have to see any of them again for a year but sure enough I saw that midcentury modern gingerbread house one twice yesterday and I only had the TV on for a few minutes. Love the gingerbread houses and accoutrements in the your links though.
