Manufactured by Gonder in Zanesville, Ohio. The company was founded in 1941 and eventually sold off in 1957. Only a chip inside one of the nostrils that can be seen if you look underneath. Still works perfectly.
Again, someone actually gave this away!

Beautiful! So regal. And I love how the light is thrown in back. The design is spectacular. I like how the mane ends to expose more light when viewed from the front.
I found one of these ones in green years ago but it had a huge crack down the middle of the head. I had sworn off of buying things that were broken but thought about it for years after I passed it up wishing I hadn’t.
Great that you’ve gotten so many things because people were giving them away. I’ve inherited a lot of my stuff that way as well, a lot of times because they’re in someone’s family and they can’t bring themselves to give it away and they know it will get a good home with me. Sounds like you have the same kind of thing going on!
I’m loving your stuff!

Thanks Allee I love posting on your site. I can sit on here for hours just browsing the museum. Do you take donation pieces?
Allee Willis
Why yes, I do! Not in any formal kind of corporation way but I must say that some of the greatest pieces in the actual physical collection of The Allee Willis Museum Of Kitsch have been contributed by aKitschionados here. I post many of those pieces in my Kitsch O’ The Day blog (https://www.alleewillis.com/blog/) and always give a shout out to the donor who’s made it possible. And I do fully plan to have actual Museum exhibitions but just not in my house where everything is now. (If you haven’t seen Willis Wonderland you can see bits of it in this this video. And the fade of the song shows the whole exterior. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo_VXWO5SKo&feature=player_embedded)
Thanks so much for digging what goes on here. Everything you’ve submitted so far has blown me away!
