I’ve grown up with the music of so many of the greats and Artie was definitely one of them. I remember the lp’s littering the floor of my grandmothers house around so many of the holidays and the evenings when Mom and AUnt Loretta would all gather around and have their cup of tea. This kind of music went really well with family gossip. Check out the couple inside the clarinet! I picked this lp up for 25 cents a recent estate sale.

Artie Shaw’s definitely a biggie. Though my favorite thing here, as I’m sure is everyone else’s, is that couple in the trumpet. Though what any of it has to do with Moonglow I don’t know.

A fave of mine too….man, I love this music..the album cover is truly sublime too..listen to KCEA on the internet…it’s the best thing about where I live….the radio shows are really informative and the music, well, y a can’t beat it! i was feeling down and sick today (serious spiraling inner tantrum mode!) and when i popped on the radio, an all time favorite of mine was on……snapped my sorry butt right out of it! Here’s Doris Day doing her version (I LOVE her): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OOX7OOqZco&feature=related

Wind Up! When I paint, I need the grooves turned down low and the jams smooth and Artie Shaw does it every time.
