This is a vintage tin litho pencil sharpener, made in Germany. You’d look pretty weird too if you had a hole in the middle of your bloated gut.

Love, love, LOVE him! Haven’t seen anything like him before. Had I designed him though the hole would’ve been in his mouth so his belly could get totally full. As it is, it seems like he would start to expel his meals when he’s only half full.
Does he still work?

Doug, you sure do have some of the best pieces of kitsch. I love this pencil sharpener!

So you’re saying this is the world’s first bulimic pencil sharpener? And yes, he still works!
Allee Willis
Agree. Doug has an incredible eye for kitsch. And I have all these pencils sitting in front of me in desperate need of sharpening. I can’t keep an electric pencil sharpener in my recording studio where I’m sitting right now as the motor can demagnetize tapes. And I’m too lazy to walk to the other side of the house where the electric pencil sharpener is. I need to find myself a Pencil Sharpener Man.
