In 1964, when the Beatles first appeared on Ed Sullivan, the veteran stand up comic team, Marty Allan and Steve Rossi were regulars on the Sunday evening talent show. They were scheduled to follow this popular group from England. When they realized they couldn’t begin to compete with the Beatles, instead they went into the audience and danced with the crowd….as told by Steve Rossi, family friend to Pearl & Reg to whom this photo was autographed to.

That certainly is one classic photo. It would be just awful to have to be the act that followed the Beatles, especially the first time they ever appeared in the states. Martin & Rossi definitely made the right choice! Did they dance to Beatles music?
