I bought this painting-on-a-board from a man selling junk on the side of the road in Beatty, Nevada. A friend of mine is working on a documentary about owls, and I figured it might provide a little inspiration.

Of course, what I love most about this is the fact that never in a million years would I have realized that these were owls unless you told me. I would have said, ‘oh, what pretty kitty cats’. I also love that the trees appear to be in a little 1950s planter and that the owls so outsize the foliage. And I always love when text is written in perspective. I guess this is all that there is to do in Beatty, Nevada.
