Within days of the tragic attack on our country, September 11, 2001, Bob created this personal tribute honoring our country’s heroes who sadly lost their lives. Just 15″ x 20″ , it has been surrounded by flowers in our front garden for nine years in their honor.

Is it paint? The red and blue almost looks like astroturf or carpeting. What’s making it so textured?

Yes, acrylic paints with an exterior matt varnish. It’s sheltered from the rain and snow. Bob said the subtle texture is meant to look like fabric.
