I found this today for $1.00 at the Joan of Arc Thrift shop. Weird timing really. I wasn’t sure if i should purchase this or not but I did. As I walked towards the check out my phone rang and “September” started playing really loudly and I knew then I was destined to own this. What are the chances of picking up a ceramic pig with a song title by Allee Willis on it and then the phone rings only to play the song I am writing about. Strange. What really kills me is that it has the two primary colors of “Willis Wonderland” on it, pink and purple.

I never would have gone for anything like this but between September (my first hit!) being printed on it and the purple boa (my Color Purple musical!) I have to fall in love with it. I try to resist buying things with September printed on it but my love of kitsch has made me appreciate all the amazingly tacky things I otherwise wouldn’t have the excuse to love and buy like this pig.

I know. When i saw this I was afraid if I didn’t get it, I would be regretting it later. It’s somewhere around here and will be included in the next box if i can find it.

I think this was made to celebrate the birthday month of September, the little jewel representing a sapphire which is September’s birthstone. They probably made one for each month.
