The wig must be pulling her lips up. A mop would’ve looked like more realistic hair. And why on earth didn’t they take advantage of the group’s name in the art direction? That’s a tragic missed opportunity. I love T-Bones!

I can’t believe that that’s the song! I know it so well. That Alka-Seltzer commercial was revolutionary at the time. It was one of the first products to really go ‘hip’ in the advertising. The most famous commercial was the stomach talking to the shrink, written by Stan Freberg. But this one was extremely popular too. I only know the song from the commercial and never knew that was actually out on record or performed by a group with a name as great as The T-Bones, undoubtably come up with by the advertising agency.

The opening shot of the sides of beef in the performance video is fantastic.

I take it back. I absolutely know the record (as opposed to the music just being used in the commercial). The Farfisa sound on it is something I try and emulate to this day.

The sides of beef painted on the walls in the video are staggering.
