This kitchy little vintage bathing cap is covered with rows of blue nylon ruffles, and the crown opens to reveal platinum blonde braids and curls held in place with a iridescent pearl barrette. I’ve never seen anything quite like this…
Trying to imagine sitting around the swimming pool in the 1950’s and seeing all the ladies in these wild swim caps….smile..

Absolutely gorgeous!! The combo of all the frilly stuff, the platinum hair and those pearls is driving me insane just looking at it.
I used to wear these although the hair never stayed intact past a few swims. I still have some of my vintage bathing caps but none so illustrious as this!

Beyond fabulous. Never before can I recall a more elaborate swim cap. I don’t think this could survive too many hours in a pool, nor would I want to get it wet. Beautiful!

This is mind bogglingly gorgeous!

Can’t believe how bizarre this is– I can’t even begin to wrap my mind around the concept of a swimming cap having braided and curled hair. Where in the world did you find this?

I have never seen a cap like this and I too grew up with these (not wearing them mind you). Grandmother’s and Aunts wore them but they mostly were plain in color and had patterns. This is wonderful!

Thank you very much…
We have been so lost…we are just now back online, our computer has been out w/all the crazy storms in the mid-west… it took them forever…
I’ve had the bathing cap for so long, I can’t remember where I got it???… It was made in Germany…
Thanks again.

Welcome back. Glad to hear you survived the storms but how crazy to hear that in this day and age that computers can get knocked offline.
