This is one of my favorite lunchboxes (manufactured by Aladdin). “Land of the Giants” was a science fiction TV show (1968 – 1970) in which a group of spaceship passengers land on a mysterious planet of giant hostile humanoids and must fight for their survival. The plot takes place in the year 1983, but notice that the spaceship crew is dressed more like the 1960’s (gotta love that both of the women are wearing uniforms that consist of mini-skirts and go-go boots)! In many ways, this TV show was similar to “Lost in Space,” another 1960’s show about a stranded spaceship crew. “Lost in Space” has it’s own lunchbox.

I didn’t watch this when it was on the air as I was too busy watching more sophisticated fare like Shindig and Hullabaloo. But I did it get into the tv show much later on YouTube.
There’s so much green going on in this lunchbox and thermos it almost looks like my front yard. Love the color scheme as much as the tiny people trying to deal with the spools of thread.

I don’t remember this TV show but the scene on the lunchbox of them fighting off a giant cat reminds be of a memorable movie…The “Incredible Shrinking Man”. Perhaps early 60’s. The guy next door type, inhales a mysterious mist out for the day boating. From that moment on he shrinks down to nothing over a short period off time. To survive, he fights off his pet cat, a spider and eventually an ant or something tiny in the grass. It’s worth seeing again.

NOHOHOHO way!!!!!!!!! This pretty amazing and in such a great shape!!!! This was an incredible show (why oh why don’t they put better things in dvd? been waiting for this FOREVER!) and yeah, i love the INcredible Shrinking Man…so dramatic and second only to the divine Lily Tomlin in The Incredible Shrinking Woman (one of my all time favorite movies…in fact, ANYTHING with LT fits that bill!)
