Clips-on earrings of the 1950’s came in all shapes and sizes. These earrings are only about 3/4″ of an inch, designed with tiny little shells glued in place. I like clip-on earrings, but always in fear of losing one, which I have done far too often.

Teeny tiny shells always remind me of craft projects I did at camp so therefore I always love anything that uses them.

OMG. How bizarre. For years and years I’ve had one of these little shell earrings (second down from the left) and never knew what it was because the earring clip part was not attached. I just thought it was pretty (like a miniature mermaid’s bouquet) and kept it in a jar of odd things (other little shells and buttons, etc.) to use someday in a craft. Finally I glued it along with other shells onto a piece of blur coral and created a piece which sits in my tropical themed bathroom. Now I know!

wow, these are really beautiful! I LOVE clip-ons (party since i don’t have my ears pierced)…they are always much more gaudy and creative…i know what you mean..i rarely wear mine, as they were my great grandmother’s and i’m afraid i’ll lose them….they make nice scarf ties, brooches, and hair decorations though….it’s easier to secure them that way!!!
