Slaughtering animals and haute couture go hand-in-hand with this vintage, beaded purse made by Magid. The sequined and hand-beaded purse is missing the handle but it still has its original hand mirror, comb and change purse which is attached to the interior of the handbag with an 8″ chain. You can’t see it but there’s a red rhinestone for the bull’s eye and another for his nostril.

The one and only time I ever went to Spain I went to see a bullfight. I almost had a heart attack it was so upsetting and the person I was with needed to restrain me lest I jumped over the fence and kill the bullfighter for tormenting the bull so.

As an avid collector of the 1950’s since the 1960s it’s been hard to avoid bullfighting things as that image is so prevalent as a 50’s icon. I have a feeling I would’ve broke down and bought this purse too if I saw it. Though I’d have to pretend that the bullfighter was taking the bull out for a nice walk in the park every time I looked down at it.

that’s a mighty skinny matador – and it looks like he forgot his cape!
