Some amazing outfits and hairstyles in this one. According to the video’s comments, the women on the left are the Carter Sisters, with Johnny’s wife June Carter in the green doing the “Mama sang tenor” line, and the men on the right are the Statler brothers. Somewhere around 1969 or 1970.

Country when it was COUNTRY! All really famous country music royalty here in a blazing medley of standards. Impeccable outfits, hair and harmonies displayed by all. I love what tv color looked like back in the 60’s and 70’s.

I’m not sure it’s technically a medley — the excerpts from “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” are actually incorporated into the chorus of this song, so they keep switching back and forth between them. In my experience, medleys usually just segue from one song to the next and don’t go back.

The color reminds me of some colorized black & white movies I’ve seen, so I’m wondering if this video may actually have been colorized from a B&W original. I have no idea how to find that out, though, so we’ll probably never know…

I only did a needle drop from spot to spot so can’t vouch for the medley-ness of it or not. Probably wouldn’t matter though as anyone who knows me knows that I have no idea what most musical terms mean. I still have no idea what a measure is but it all seems to work for me. https://www.alleewillis.com/discography/allee-willis-discography.htm

The video doesn’t look colorized to me. A lot of 50’s, 60’s and 70’s movies and TV shows were heavily saturated like this all in attempts to look like Technicolor. This is my favorite kind of color and I always try and get my own videos to look this way.
