HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY… hope everyone gets a good parade out of the deal somewhere..
DETROIT circa 1918… Apparently “Everybody” in Detroit loved a parade in 1918.
Check out the “Blackstone Cigar Sign Sitting”… a popular pastime…
This is one of the many newswire photos currently all over ebay…
I would like to thank ebay seller “afox11” in Tn for this great post.

I love, love this photo because it takes place in my beloved Detroit at a time when the streets were pulsing with people destined to live in what was to become in a few decades a true city of the future. We all know it slid back down and the streets aren’t so crowded unless something’s really wrong but it’s a wonderful city with a wonderful spirit if you get to know it. And, without a doubt, it will be celebrated again. http://detroit.blogs.time.com/2010/03/19/telling-our-detroit-story/

Thank you Allee, we loved reading the Time Magazine post… you’ve touched our hearts…
Your soul party fund raiser was the first time we had a chance to read about all your work to save the radio archive. It was great that you selected Mumford High School, to be the first recipients.. good work…

I want to still do something with Mumford but the regime has changed over thereand I’m not sure who to get in touch with. I also heard it’s slated for demolition which makes me ill. I’m still carrying on that color scheme to this day (as evidenced by this powder blue and dialed-down-from-maroon pink page).
