My genius and generous mother purchased this record for me somewhere for a Christmas present. One of my collections is things related to Alice in Wonderland, and she found a doozy with this one. I regret to say that I have not slit the cellophane to listen to the wonders within, but I plan to do so and can update you with a report when I do. I’m sure it is everything we can imagine. Just the concept so bizarre and surreal, I bet neither Lewis Carroll or Jefferson Airplane could have come up with this one. What’s next? Alice meets Scooby Doo & The Harlem Globetrotters?
Allee Willis
Definitely a bizarre coupling and early experiment with cross promoting.
Do you know what year this was released? You would think with Magilla Gorilla entering the fantasy that the illustration would be a lot wilder than it is.
The teapot looks a little sinister and Alice looks like she jumped straight out of a Betty & Veronica comic.
I know you haven’t opened it yet but do you know if it’s singing or storytelling?
Douglas Wood
I love this. It’s so cool when two unlikely pop culture characters come together. Speaking of which, I’ve always loved the Mister Magoo version of The Christmas Carol.
